Construction Notice – Paving Improvement District 128 – 2nd Ave NW, 4th St NW/NE and 3rd St NW Street Reconstruction

Beginning Monday, April 15th, 2024, 3rd St NW will be closed from 2nd Ave NW to Central Ave N and 4th St NW/NE will be closed to through traffic from 2nd Ave NW to 2nd Ave NE, excluding the Central Ave N intersection. The closure will remain in effect until the Phase 1 portion of the corridor is reconstructed, which is anticipated to be early July 2024. The Phase 2 closure, including 2nd Ave NW from 2nd St NW to 4th St NW, will begin upon the completion of Phase 1 and is anticipated to be completed at the end of September 2024. Additional information regarding the Phase 2 work will be sent out at a later date. Phase 1 is defined as the work along 3rd St NW and 4th St NW/NE. Phase 2 is defined as the work along 2nd Ave NW.

The west alley between 3rd St NW and 4th St NW will be closed to through traffic, but alley access for businesses will be maintained from 2nd Ave NW during the closures. The east alley between 3rd St NE and 4th St NE will also have through traffic impacted during construction. Businesses will have access from 2nd Ave NE during the 4th St NE closure.

No detour route for motorized vehicles will be provided, temporary pedestrian access routes will be provided along the project route for the duration of the project, excluding the portion of work taking place on 4th St. NE.

Construction Notice – Update #1 – Paving Improvement District 125 – 2nd Ave NE/4th St NE and 3rd St NE/3rd Ave NE Street Reconstruction

Phase 1: 2nd Ave NE is closed to traffic from 2nd St NE to 5th St NE. The closure will remain in effect until the corridor is reconstructed, which is anticipated to be early October. No detour route for motorized vehicles will be provided, temporary pedestrian access routes will be provided along the project route for the duration of the project.

Beginning Monday, July 24, 2023, the intersection of 2nd Ave NE and 2nd St NE will be closed for utility work. This closure is anticipated to last approximately one week.

Construction Notice-2nd Ave SE

Beginning Wednesday August 4^th, 2021, 2^nd Avenue SE will be closed from Main Street E to 2^nd Street SE and from College Street SE to 6^th Street SE for a mill and overlay. Parking will not be allowed on either side of the roadways. The roads will reopen following completion of the construction operations. Construction operations are anticipated to be completed by the end of the day.

Construction Notice – 7th Avenue Northwest & 4th Street Northwest
Starting July 26th, 2021, 4th Street Northwest will be closed from the intersection of 8th Avenue Northwest to the intersection of 7th Avenue Northwest.
7th Avenue Northwest will remain closed from Main Street West to 4th Street Northwest. This closure is anticipated to continue through August. A detour route will not be provided for this phase of the project.

The roadway will remain open to thru traffic. Parking will not be permitted on the street. Pedestrian traffic will be routed through sidewalk detours utilizing temporary ramps and crossings.

Construction Notice – Main Street and Central Avenue

The southbound parking lane on Central Avenue will be closed from Main Street to 4^th Street SW beginning Monday June 28, 2021 for construction operations. The roadway will remain open to traffic. Parking will be permitted on the east side of the road. Sidewalks on the west side of the road will be closed. Pedestrian traffic will be routed through sidewalk detours utilizing temporary ramps and crossings.

The parking lane closure for westbound traffic on Main Street will continue to be in place. Pedestrians are to continue using the dedicated detours through the channelizing devices.

Construction Notice-7th Ave West

Construction Notice – 7th Avenue West
Starting June 22nd, 2021, the intersection of Main Street West and 7th Avenue West will be closed through June 23rd to June 24th, 2021 for paving operations. A detour route will be in effect for the Main Street closure. The detour route will run from 9th Avenue Northwest to 2nd Street Northwest then back to Main Street via 5th Avenue Northwest.
Following completion of paving operations on Main Street West, 7th Avenue Northwest will be closed from Main Street West to 4th Street Northwest, and 4th Street Northwest will also be closed from 8th Avenue Northwest to 7th Avenue Northwest. This closure for Phase 2 of construction is anticipated to continue through the end of July. A detour route will not be provided for this phase of the project.

Construction Notice-Main Street

Thursday June 10th. The roadway will be open to traffic. Designated left turn lanes will be removed to allow two-way traffic. Left turn movements will still be permitted. Parking will be permitted on the south side of the street. Pedestrian traffic will be routed through sidewalk detours utilizing temporary ramps and crossings.

Construction Notice-7th Ave NW

Starting May 10th, 2021 7th Avenue W will be closed from 2nd Street SW to the intersection of 2nd Street NW. The closure will remain in effect until the corridor is reconstructed. Main Street will be closed from 8th Avenue SW to 6th Avenue SW during installation of underground utilities. Access to businesses along Main Street will be provided.
A detour route will be in effect for the duration of the Main Street closure. The Detour Route will run from 9th Avenue NW to 2nd Street NW then back to Main Street via 5th Avenue NW.

5th Ave NW Construction Notice

Construction activities on 5th Ave NW Phase 2 will resume on April 19th, 2021. Starting April 21st, 2021 5th Avenue NW will be closed from 7th Street NW to 12th Street NW. The roadway will remain open to local traffic only.
A detour route will be in effect for the duration of the closure. The detour will run from Main Street to 9th Avenue NW and then back to 5th Avenue NW via 12th Street NW.
