Building/Fire Inspector

The Building Inspector is authorized and directed to enforce the provisions of the State Building Code as adopted by the City of Valley City. The Building Inspector has the authority to render interpretations of the State Building Code and to establish policies and procedures to clarify the application of its provisions which may be presented to the Board of City Commissioners for its approval by resolution. The Building Inspector shall be responsible for applications and permits, notices and orders, and inspections including a right of entry at reasonable times to enforce and assure compliance with the State Building Code.
