CITY ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT
City Administrator Crawford gave report on Service Center project, which continues to be on schedule and within budget.
CITY UPDATES & COMMISSION REPORTS
City Finance Director Klein reported that the preliminary budget meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 29, at 7:30 a.m. in the Valley City Chambers.
City Engineer Eslinger reported the work has begun on the foundation for the new water tower project. Crews have started the initial site work, and we are hopeful that piling installation and construction of the base foundation will begin in August.
City Engineer Petersen gave updates on the NDDOT Project on East Main St, school, and seal coat projects currently taking place throughout the community. In addition, a public meeting was held last week for Paving Project 133, providing residents with information about the project and an opportunity to ask questions and offer feedback.
Commissioner Gulmon A budget update was provided, noting that department heads and portfolio holders have met over the past two weeks to finalize the proposed budget. The preliminary budget has been completed and will be distributed to the City Commissioners ahead of next week’s budget meeting.
Commissioner Erickson reminded residents of tree branch pick up for next week July 30-31.
